JV Men's Basketball: Game added Feb. 3rd
Posted on: Tuesday, January 19, 2016
JV Men's Basketball,
We have added an away game at North East Carolina Prep on Feb. 3rd. The start time is 4:45 p.m. Dismissal will be at 2:45 p.m. This addition has been added to the team schedule page.
Also, do not forget that today's game is now a home game! We still need volunteers for gate, concessions, scoreboard, scorebook.
JV MBB: Game vs. Raleigh Hawks, Jan. 19th, now a home game
Posted on: Monday, January 18, 2016
JV Men's Basketball,
The Raleigh Hawks are unable to host tomorrow's game, as the heat in the church where they play is out & awaiting repair. Rather than cancel the game, we offered to host it tomorrow at approximately 7:00 p.m. immediately following the end of the middle school games.
Therefore, we will be looking for volunteers for gate, concessions, scoreboard, and keeping the scorebook for tomorrow's home game. Please e-mail Coach Williams, Coach Rodgers, or Coach Bystricky if you're able to help.
MJV Basketball - Parents please read (Jan. 15th)

Parents,
We really need your help with concessions. If you have not worked concessions yet this year we could really use your help for tonight’s home game against River Mill. If we do not get volunteers for concessions, they will be closed and this hurts our athletic department. Please sign up for tonight’s concessions or another home game in the near future. I have provided links for all 3 teams (boys jv, boys varsity, and girls varsity).
Thanks,
Coach Rodgers

HS Basketball Games, Jan. 5th, construction coming onto campus
Posted on: Tuesday, January 05, 2016
HS Basketball Teams,
Please enter campus via Industrial Drive for today's games & park in the HS lot. There is construction on N. Whitley as you come onto campus. They're grading the road, fixing the speed bump, etc. It was not open to traffic this morning & likely will not be open in time for the JV game either.
Thank you!

Duke Children's Hospital Christmas Toy Drive
Posted on: Tuesday, December 01, 2015
Winter Sports Teams,
Last year the MS basketball teams participated in a Christmas toy drive for the Duke Children's Hospital. This year we'd like to involve all 7 winter teams.
Below is the message we have received from the Duke Children's Hospital about their toy drive to put on their "Snow Blitz" event. Our deadline to collect gifts will be the end of practice on Tuesday, December 15th. We will deliver the gifts the following morning.
Please note that the children's hospital does have some guidelines about what they can accept as gifts to protect children at the hospital as much as possible from germs and contamination. I have attached a copy of their "wish list" under each team's "Team Files" page. Please let me know if you have any questions & thank you for your support of this worthy cause! All donations can be dropped off in the PE office and given to any of the coaches.Great Athletes ~ Exceptional Students ~ BETTER PEOPLE!
Regards,
Coach BystrickyThank you so much for thinking of the patients and families here at Duke Children's! We would love to accept your generous offer of a donation.
Our requirements for donations are that all items are brand new and unused and that no food items (including candy and gum) are allowed. These rules are due to Duke's strict infection control policies and the restricted diets and/or food allergies of a large number of patients.
We also ask that you do not wrap any of the items in your donation. We will take care of wrapping closer to the time we give out these gifts to the patients and families here at the hospital. I have attached a wish list that you can use as a reference that includes general needs of all age groups. At this time we are trying to collect items for infants/toddlers and adolescent patients as we tend to get an abundance of school age items. If you would not mind selecting items off of the infant/toddler or adolescent wish list, that would be great!

Athletic Teams Needs
Posted on: Thursday, July 30, 2015
Hello EWA fans, parents, and players. The Basketball Program have been working very hard this summer to put together a first class program for the up coming athletic season. In the past we have incorporated yoga to our preseason workout, and that has proved to be well worth it. This year we will be adding some cross-fit workouts to our regimen and we would like to ask you all for a few donations. We are in need of 3 or 4 used big truck or small tractor tires for our strength workout. If you could help us by donating these items please email me at dwilliams@eastwakeacademy.orgrange so we can arrange a pickup. Thanks for your support.
