The bus will leave promptly at 11:30am. We will also stop to get something to eat on the way home, so the girls should bring food money with them.

Varsity Volleyball will travel to Voyager on Friday, October 13th. Game time is at 6:45 pm.
Club volleyball season is quickly apporaching. I encourage EWA athletes to continue their skill development and volleyball IQ by continuing to play the sport beyond their school season. This will help EWA continue to build a strong volleyball program for years to come. I am excited to announce that Carolina Premier Volleyball Club is in it's 3rd season of partnership with EWA and has remains committed to training the student-athletes at EWA. If you are interested in training with Premier this club season, please visit the website for more information and to register for training sessions and tryouts.
Varsity volleyball game canceled for 9/7. Practice will be held at 5:30.
Please note the start time for the varsity volleyball game is at 7 pm tonight.
Tomorrow we play N. Johnston High School. Please plan to arrive before 4:30, as we will begin warming up at 4:30. It would also be nice to get there in time to watch and support the JV team.

Women's volleyball tryouts are complete and the rosters are set. I would like to thank all of the ladies for coming to tryouts and giving it their all. The Goeagles.org website is having some technical problems, so you will not be able to view the roster from the fall sports menu. However, you will be able to access rosters by clicking on one of the scheduled volleyball games. Right under the Fall sports drop down menu you will see the Women's Varsity Volleyball vs Research Triangle game. If you click on that game you will be taken to the game schedule page where you can access the varsity roster. To access the JV roster click on the Women's JV Volleyball vs North Johnston game. Again, from the game schedule page, click on roster to view the JV roster. Please make sure you check both rosters for your name. For those who did not make a team, I encourage you to try again next year. If you are interested in receiving some feedback, feel free to contact me. Thank you, and have a great night!
Pre-season volleyball workouts will be held Monday, July 24th - Friday, July 28th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. There will also be a short volleyball interest meeting on Monday the 24th at 5:30PM, prior to workouts. This will give parents and athletes the opportunity to ask questions about tryouts and the upcoming season. If you are interested in playing volleyball for EWA this Fall 2017 season, we look forward to seeing you in the gym.
ZEBULON, NC -- East Wake Academy will have a new, but somewhat familiar face as its head coach for its rising volleyball program this year. Ahada McCummings, Executive Director/Coach/Performance Consultant for Carolina Premier Volleyball, will take over for a program that has been a regular in the state playoffs and earned its first ever playoff win versus Southside last Fall.
McCummings began playing volleyball in high school, in West Chester, PA, and continued playing in college for the Syracuse University Intramural Volleyball League. She has played in adult leagues in both North Carolina and Texas. Her experience as a coach began in 2008 coaching in a recreation volleyball league.
She has since gone on to work with athletes on various levels from 1st grade to collegiate. Most recently, McCummings has served as the assistant coach for Carolina Premier 16 Black team, and the JV coach at Knightdale High School last year.
“Ahada has been working with some of our EWA players now for the past two years with her Premier teams so this was just a natural fit,” said outgoing Athletic Director, Bret Bystricky. “She’s going to do an outstanding job & keep EWA on the rise heading into the future. We’re lucky to have her.”
Her specialty in mental performance coaching has been instrumental in the development and success of individual athletes as well as national level teams. She is currently working on a doctoral degree with an emphasis on performance improvement which strengthens her passion to help athletes find the right formula for continued development and peak performance. McCummings' passion is, and has always been encouraging girls and women to empower themselves to be great.
McCummings holds a B.S. in Mathematics from St. Augustine’s University, a M.A. in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Global Training & Development at Northcentral University.
