Injuries and Appointments
The health and safety of your student-athlete is the number one priority for coaches, the sports medicine team, and you as parents/guardians. In the event that your student-athlete sustains an injury while participating in sports at East Wake Academy, all information will be communicated to you as soon as possible. A member of the sports medicine team will discuss the status of your student-athlete with you and explain the injury and any treatment recommendations. The details of an injury will only be shared with those directly involved in caring for the athlete.
If the athlete is recommended to see or follow up with a doctor, the sports medicine team can facilitate an appointment with Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina within 48 hours. For urgent injuries or on weekends, you may be instructed to take your student-athlete to OSNC Urgent Care for immediate evaluation.
Urgent Care
For your convenience, our office offers 3 urgent care locations that are open 9am-9pm, 7 days a week. No appointment necessary- just walk in to be seen or evaluated for your sports injury. Follow up with your team physician will be facilitated.
